He met up with Generic Bluesman the next year who was a server there at Red Lobster and they put together a group call "The Sun Tea Bandits" named after an incident involving four Sunny Delight gallon jugs full of urine.
STB played in and out of the El Paso Area for about Five years, living in the back of Jose's station wagon. Several incidents with the El Paso police department and One Texas Ranger caused the duo to leave El Paso for the salvo of Cookeville, Tn. It was in this sleepy town that the group found fame after performing at the famous Nickle Benifit in 1997.
Jose P. and Generic Bluesman lived in the Creative enviroment of the Famous HOUSETOWN before it was condemed. Shortly after Dot was stolen after a party and the band disbanded.
1999- Jose P. after a stint with the Jose P. Orchestra decides to go One Man Band with his new guitar (an Acoustic) and a new lead pipe. His latest album "Whiskey Head" is the triumph of his labors and one for the history books.
